Bowenhurst Lose Opening Fixture To Cove

Bow have lost their first game of the 07/08 season with a 3-0 defeat to Cove Manor.

Both teams started evenly but Cove looked the most likely to score as they were creating the better chances. Bow had gone for three at the back and were keeping the Cove attack at bay. The break-through came when new-signing Keith was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area after it had flicked up at him - the referee gave a penalty. Cove scored.

Cove's other two goals also came in the first half. The second caught the Bow defence on the backfoot and the ball was put away neatly. The third goal was headed in to the top corner following a corner - keeper Stuart was unable to reach it with a dispairing save.

The second half was pretty uneventful as both sides succumbed to the hot weather. Cove did get a second penalty, again from a handball, but Stuart dived well to his left and pushed the ball away.

The game ended 3-0 to Cove. Bow didn't create enough chances. Trigger boffed up at some point - at least we have something to smile about. Oh, and Tom had a great game in midfield as the Cove players had to run round him.
